Orlando Chevrolet Dealership Reviews the New SS

The all-new Chevy SS launched last year and thrilled us with its incognito street racer persona - a rear-drive car with awesome power under the hood that looks and feels like a luxury sedan. This year, we find the 2015 Chevrolet SS arrives in Orlando with additional performance enhancements for the racecar driver hiding deep in your psyche. A new six-speed manual transmission option will please the purists, while new Brembo rear brakes have been added for those who like to push the outside of the envelope. New color choices were added this year as well, our favorite being "Some Like it Hot Red." The SS is also the recipient of Chevy's new OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with built-in wi-fi hotspot, which gives your passengers something to look at besides your speedometer. The system will accommodate up to ten wireless devices, so there's really no excuse for passengers doing any backseat driving beyond playing Redline Rumble.

What 2015 Chevrolet SS review would be complete without quoting some trash talk about BMW? According to Brian Sweeney, Chevy's US VP, BMW is the top non-GM-brand trade-in from SS customers. Burn! But let's get serious and talk torque. The Chevy SS is powered by an LS3 V-8, delivering an SAE-certified 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. What that means to you is 0-60mph acceleration in about five seconds - and even stronger acceleration from the new manual transmission. The SS has nearly 50/50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity for optimum stability. Chevy added standard Magnetic Ride Control this year with driver-selectable modes to more precisely manage body motion and even further improve on what Edmunds called "shockingly capable handling."

As you peruse the rest of our 2015 Chevy SS review to learn about all the standard features included with the SS and investigate the car comparison tool, we're only sorry that we don't have an audio file to include so you can hear what you're missing. To quote Edmunds once more, "It makes glorious noises." To hear them for yourself, be sure to come see us and turn the key on a 2015 Chevrolet SS in Orlando today!
