Although these two eye-catching Corvette concept cars aren't headed for production, they provide an exciting glimpse into Chevrolet's design future. The Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo showcase the creativity of Chevy's global design team and emphasize the brand's performance roots.
Corvette CX Concept
Created as a street-legal supercar, the Corvette CX projects a bold, aggressive look. Its ultra-wide stance and sculpted bodywork immediately stand out. The concept's most striking feature may be the fighter-jet-inspired canopy, which opens automatically as you get close.
The car is propelled by an AWD electric powertrain with four motors. Chevy claims an outrageous 2,000 horsepower, producing ferocious straight-line performance. The lithium-ion battery is mounted low in the chassis for better weight balance, and four-wheel torque vectoring enhances cornering. The Vacuum Fan System channels air through the open body to generate additional downforce.
The Corvette CX offers a driver-focused cockpit filled with high-end materials like forged carbon fiber. A digital windscreen provides live performance readouts, and controls are tastefully integrated into the sporty steering wheel to reduce distractions.
Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept
The CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a pure track car and appears in Gran Turismo 7. This mid-engine race car uses a twin-turbo V8 that makes 900 horsepower and revs to an astounding 15,000 rpm. Three electric motors supplement the engine to achieve 2,000 horsepower, and renewable e-fuel ensures sustainable performance.
Since it's intended only for track use, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo has a stripped-down interior to save weight. The heavily bolstered seats keep occupants secure during high-speed cornering.
