What's New for the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe?

Chevrolet has updated its popular SUV, the Chevy Tahoe for 2019. For the current year, the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe deletes Havana Metallic and Tungsten Metallic as exterior colors and adds Shadow Gray Metallic. The RST Edition now gets the following exterior colors: Shadow Gray Metallic, Black, Summit White, and Silver Ice Metallic. The rear fascia closeout feature gets the same colors plus Iridescent Pearl Tricoat.

The 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe gets the following trims. Each is available in a rear-wheel or four-wheel drive versions.

LS: This trim features a limited-slip differential that can detect major differences in wheel speed and then lock both rear wheels in unison to maximize traction, particularly on tough terrain. To keep you informed, the Chevrolet Infotainment System comes with an 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen that integrates your smartphone using support for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You can also use your voice to access the radio and phone.

LT: This trim has a power-programmable liftgate that opens at the touch of a button. You can also program how high the hatch opens to accommodate low parking ceilings. You can enjoy music from the Bose premium 9-speaker audio system. Lean back on the leather-appointed front bucket seats.

Premier: When you have the key fob with you, you don't have to take your keys out of your pocket because Keyless Open lets you lock and unlock your vehicle doors. Once you're inside, you can step on the brake pedal and press the Engine Start/Stop button to start the engine. Navigation is added to the infotainment so you can receive turn-by-turn directions as wells as maps in 2D and 3D.

Which Engines are Available in 2019?

2019 Chevrolet TahoeThe 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe uses an aluminum-block 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 that depends on Direct Injection, Active Fuel Management, and Variable Valve Timing. This produces 355 horsepower at 5,600 RPM and 383 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,100 RPM. Maximum conventional trailering reaches 6,400 lbs.

Also available with the same technologies is the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 that generates up to 420 horsepower at 5,600 RPM and 460 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,100 RPM. Either engine uses a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, Driver Shift Control, and Tow/Haul mode. A 10-speed automatic transmission is also available. Standard on the LS and LT is Premium Smooth Ride suspension, which isolates the passenger cabin from pavement imperfections.

The Premier includes Magnetic Ride Control that monitors each wheel independently, adjusting vertical suspension almost continually to produce a smooth ride, make steering more precise, and enhance traction.

Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking monitors for potential front-end collisions when the vehicle is traveling at 50 MPH or less. It can then apply the brakes to either lessen the impact or avoid the accident altogether.

Forward Collision Alert tells you when vehicles are slowing in front of you and that a frontal hit is imminent. You can set the following distance to near, medium, far, or off.

With the Rear Vision Camera activated every time you go into Reverse, you can see the view behind you to make backing up easier. Rear Cross Traffic Alert warns you if any other vehicles are about to cross your backward direction. And available Rear Park Assist warns you when you get too close to stationary objects.

Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert tells you when vehicles have entered your blind zone so you can change lanes with more safety.

The Safety Alert Seat vibrates the cushion in the direction of the hazard in lieu of you're hearing audible safety alerts.
