Specs at a Glance

One of the main things in any truck is its engines. Even though there are a lot of different cars in the market with powerful yet reliable engines, not all of them excel in one way or another. Today I will be talking about the new Chevrolet Silverado HD and the LTD, which promises a lot. I will take you on a ride through this roadmap and look at each type's advantages and disadvantages.

Performance

The Chevrolet Silverado HD is available in four trims: Work Truck, Custom, LT, and LTZ. The LTD trim will be available next year. The Work Truck trim is the base trim level of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado HD, and it comes with a standard 6.6L V8 engine that delivers 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The LTD trim is equipped with a 6.6L turbocharged V8 engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission.

Appearance

The Chevrolet Silverado HD has a bold and robust exterior design that combines modern elements with traditional elements to create a well-balanced exterior design. It also has a high stance, making it look powerful from any angle. It comes with 18-inch wheels as standard, but you can get 19-, 20-, or 22-inch wheels, depending on the trim level.

The LTD trim comes standard with black side steps, body-color bumpers, and door handles. You can also get automatic high beam control, heated outside mirrors, and LED taillights as optional features on this vehicle.

Features

The Silverado HD gets a new 6.6-liter V8 gas engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque paired to a new 10-speed automatic transmission (the same gearbox used in the 2020 Chevy Corvette). It also gets a new 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine that makes 445 horsepower and 910 lb.-ft. Of torque. The Ford Super Duty is offered with an updated 7.3-liter V8 gas engine producing 430 hp and 475 lb.-ft. And the proven 6.7-liter Powerstroke diesel makes 475 hp and 1,050 lb.-ft. While GM did not release the new Silverado HD performance figures, we expect it to be slightly behind the class leader in both powertrain categories.
