How Often Should I Service My Chevrolet Equinox?
The Equinox is a long-hauler. It boasts some of today's most impressive interior qualities, and it's quite the looker-on the outside as well. To keep your SUV in fantastic shape, you need to closely follow the Chevrolet Equinox service intervals outlined in your service manual. These procedures take only a little amount of time to complete, but they can add years to your Equinox's usefulness. A brief Chevrolet Equinox maintenance schedule is printed here, but we strongly recommend reading your service manual for complete information.
15,000-Mile Service
Like other SUVs, the Equinox has a lifetime of oil and filter changes ahead of it. Getting the first one in at 15,000 miles will keep your Equinox feeling and running fresh. A good tire rotation is in order here as well. Other services will be visual inspections of the belts and hoses, and fluids. If there's a leak, our team will catch and repair it.
30,000-Mile Service
A few more miles on the road is something your Equinox can handle with ease. By 30,000 miles, though, you'll need to power up with new brake fluid and engine coolant. Coolant products are specific to trim, and we'll know which one to use for your Equinox trim. Our team will also check for transmission fluid levels and spark plug condition.
60,000-Mile Service
Sixty thousand miles is an important milestone for Equinox. This is a time when we adjust the timing belt and valves of your SUV. We'll check the brake pads' condition and see if a fresh round of brake pads might improve performance. Tire rotations are critical here, but you might also want to power up with a new set of tires.
90,000-Mile Service
Ninety thousand miles means your Equinox has traveled a lot of long roads and put in plenty of services for you. Over time, struts and the shock absorber can wear out. We'll check the structural integrity of your suspension system to see if you need to replace anything. Your spark plugs will likely need to be replaced here as well. You've started up that beautiful Equinox a lot. Give your spark plugs a nice retirement.
The trim of your Equinox will in large part determine your service schedule. Read through your trim's manual for more info or contact us to schedule any of the above services. We're here to help.
