The Chevrolet Corvette celebrates a significant anniversary - it turns 70! Given that the Corvette, a cultural icon, has been in production for the longest of any current automobile nameplates, it is an accomplishment that deserves recognition.
The 70th Anniversary Edition of the Corvette
Chevrolet will release the 2023 Corvette 70th Anniversary Edition package for the Corvette Stingray and Corvette Z06 to mark the anniversary.
According to Steve Majoros, vice president of Chevrolet marketing, This anniversary is doubly memorable because of the enthusiasm and sales success we've achieved with the eighth generation of America's legendary sports car. Corvette still sends youth dreaming of the open road and makes hearts race even after 70 years.
After passing through the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on January 29, 2022, the first-ever retail production mid-engine Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition VIN 001 just garnered $3.6 million for Operation Homefront. The exterior of the 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette will either be the brand-new White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat or the Carbon Flash Metallic. Satin Gray with the White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat and Satin Black with the Carbon Flash Metallic are complementary color combinations for the optional stripes. The unique wheels for the special edition will have commemorative wheel center caps. Although the wheels for the Stingray and Z06 are different from one another, they both have a black finish and an Edge Red stripe.
Drivers will find two-tone Ceramic leather GT2 or Competition Sport seats, red seatbelts, red stitching, and a suede microfiber steering wheel inside the cockpit. Additionally, models will include the following:
- Exterior badging for the 70th Anniversary Edition includes unique Corvette cross flags and brake calipers in red
- Seats, the steering wheel, and the sill plates all bear the 70th Anniversary Edition insignia
- Protection for the rear bumper and the trunk
- Personalized baggage set with 70th Anniversary Edition logo and red stitching
A commemorative 70th-anniversary interior plaque is on the center speaker grille of every 2023 Corvette.
