The Corvette ZR1 Hits 233 MPH With GM President Mark Reuss Driving

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is already solidifying its place as one of the fastest production cars in the world. Recently, General Motors President Mark Reuss took the ZR1 for a test run on a track in Germany, reaching an astonishing top speed of 233 mph. No other production car priced under $1 million has achieved this speed. The new Corvette ZR1 consistently exceeded 230 mph in multiple runs, setting a new benchmark for American-made sports cars.

The Fastest GM Vehicle Ever

Under the hood, the 2025 Corvette ZR1 houses a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-plane crank V8 engine, producing an incredible 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. GM claims this power allows the ZR1 to complete the quarter-mile in under 10 seconds. The 8,000 rpm redline promises an exhilarating driving experience. The car offers seamless power delivery with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A carbon fiber aero package generates 1,200 pounds of downforce, contributing to the ZR1's remarkable handling.

Beyond Impressive Speed

In addition to its record-breaking performance, the new Corvette ZR1 dazzles with its striking design. It reintroduces the Corvette's classic split rear window, which also helps improve engine cooling. Several exterior colors are available, including Competition Yellow Tintcoat Metallic and Torch Red. The ZR1 features 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels, giving it an aggressive, sporty stance.

The car's driver-centered cabin offers premium features, including a performance steering wheel. Available upgrades include a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, Nappa leather seats, and a curb-view front camera.
