What's New For The 2019 Chevy Silverado?

The 2019 model of the Chevy Silverado is rocking new styling, upgraded engine technology, and a new option for a diesel engine. The Silverado is constructed mostly of steel, but clever engineering keep it lightweight. The 2019 model is both larger and lighter than the 2018 version, with a longer wheelbase and overall length. This improves the legroom in the crew cab by almost three inches. Brand-new storage space is available under the rear seats and in the rear seatbacks.

All trims and configurations of the 2019 Chevy Silverado receive a larger bed with nearly seven extra inches of floor width. There's also a new option for a power-operated tailgate. The bed floor is made from newly engineered high-strength steel, with overall strength 1.5 times better than the previous model. Its 12 stationary tie-downs have double the strength of the 2018 model.

Six incredible powertrain combinations are available. Two of those are all-new gasoline V8 engines that improve fuel efficiency. Also being introduced is Chevrolet's Dynamic Fuel Management system, with technology that could boost Chevrolet models' fuel economy by up to 5 percent more than other systems. As for design, aerodynamic efficiency has been improved by 7 percent thanks to a steeper windshield and new roof spoiler. Also new is the turbocharged diesel engine option.
